Jervis Bay, the whitest sand in the world! Yes, that's right, this place has one of the whitest sand. I luckily was able to go to this stunning place by crashing someones birthday!
The drive from Sydney was a short three hour drive. The drive originally started out with plenty of trees and slowly became more more beachy as we went on. I am still getting the hang of driving on the left. I don't trust myself driving yet, since I keep looking the wrong way!
Beside that the fact this was just a very convenient trip for me to take, place to stay and a ride to get there. This was already on my list of places to visit. There is so many beaches in this area as well. This area also happens to be a place for bioluminescence, which is essentially bacteria in the water glowing blue, green or sometimes red. Similar to the northern lights the weather, and wind play a large part in seeing the glowing water. I sadly did not see any however I hear that I should come back in November to hopefully witness some bioluminescence, Fingers-crossed!
BUT, Jervis bay is so much more than just beaches! See kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, wombats, and many rare bird and animal species in the wild(I only saw insects). It is one of the best places in Australia to witness whales on their annual migrations, humpbacks and southern right whales can be seen both offshore and inside the calmer waters of the bay from June through to November. Also dolphins swim and play here year round.
The area has many cycling paths, plenty of hiking, and the area offers paddle boarding, kayaking, camping and trials that take you out to some amazing cliff look outs!
Jervis Bay is actually a large area and there is so much to see and do and I only saw a very small part of it. I hope to visit again some day! Just not sure when
